Creating Imagery with Dialog Tags
I am 55k words into my 1st book. Loving every minute of it! As a new writer, I am finding that one place I am needing a bit more depth in is Dialog Tags.
I was listening to The Sorcerer's Stone on audiobook today and was amazed how clearly I could see the scene, the world JK Rowling was creating. Her ability to paint a beautiful picture made me re-evaluate where I should try and enhance what I had written. What most impressed me was how the dialog flowed between her characters, all while still painting that beautiful picture for the reader.
As a life-long learner, I started to build my database of dialog tags to help me create my own pictures for my stories. Below are just some of the words I have jotted down to assist me in my writing. I hope this helps you as well!
